Making the Most of Your Vacation to OCNJ

Whether you’ve already planned your vacation or you’re in the process of doing so, we’d love to offer you a few suggestions of must-see attractions here in America’s Greatest Family Resort. There are plenty of things to do for the entire family, day or night, in the sunshine or rain. Even if your itinerary is already packed, it never hurts to have a few backup activities! (P.S. We’re pretty sure the beautiful beaches are a far too obvious lure to OCNJ, so there’s no need to say much more here!)

The Boardwalk
OCNJ is known for its beautiful boardwalk with almost 2.5 miles of shopping, eating, and entertainment for everyone! In the morning, you can rent bikes or surreys to ride along the boards while enjoying the beautiful ocean views. There is also mini golf, laser tag, hair wrapping, go-karts, and more! Make sure to try all the unforgettable foods Ocean City has to offer, especially their pizza, popcorn, and ice cream. With so many delicious options, you will never run out of new things to try! At night the boardwalk transforms into a walkway of lights and sounds that you won’t want to miss. If you’re lucky, you may even catch a firework show over the ocean for a special occasion!

Moorlyn Family Theatre
Located on the boardwalk between 8th and 9th Street, this movie theater is the perfect escape from the summer heat or stormy weather. They play the latest movies and have a full concession stand of snacks!

The Music Pier
Throughout the season, the Ocean City Music Pier hosts a wide variety of shows for the public from pageants to plays and concerts to conventions! The Music Pier is located on the boardwalk between 8th and 9th Street as well. Tickets for events at the Music Pier can be purchased at their box office or online at the www.ocnj.us website. This year The Beach Boys and The Temptations will be making an appearance!

Amusement/ Water Parks
There are two amusement parks and a water park located along the boardwalk which are a must during your vacation in OCNJ. You can see the beautiful lights of the ferris wheels from Playland’s Castaway Cove (10th Street) and Gillian’s Wonderland Pier (6th Street) when driving over the 9th Street bridge. These parks are both open from morning till night and are every kid’s dream! The OC Waterpark (7th Street) is the perfect alternative to a beach day when you’re looking to switch it up. Relax along the lazy river or speed down the body slide for a day that is sure to exhaust!

Family Night
Looking for something to do with the kids at night? Every Thursday from July 6th to August 31st, you can find family friendly entertainment on the boardwalk from 7:30pm to 9:30pm between 6th and 14th Street. Live music and performances surrounded by all your favorite eateries is sure to be a good time!

Farmers Market
Every Wednesday from June 28th to September 6th, you can find a delightful Farmer’s Market at the Ocean City Tabernacle Grounds and a variety of crafters along 6th Street and Asbury Avenue from 8am to 1pm. Wake up early to buy fresh fruits and vegetables for a healthy and delicious dinner that night! Even after hitting the Farmer’s Market, you still have plenty to time to spend at the beach or on the boardwalk!

Golf Course
Did you know Ocean City has its very own golf course? Well, now you do! Located along Bay Avenue at 26th Street, this 12 hole par 37 course offers players an affordable, yet challenging round of golf amongst the beautiful outdoors. The course is open from April to October, weather permitting, and offers clubs, hand carts, and ride carts for rent.

Bay Activities
If you’re looking for something different than the beach or boardwalk, make sure you take a visit to the bay side of the island. You will not be disappointed by their wide selection of sports and activities that include parasailing, kayaking, tubing, wakeboarding, and so much more! You can even fish from the fishing piers, docks, or bayside pavilion.
